For a number of years now, the Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil has been taking steps to promote sustainable development and environmental management, with the aim of understanding the natural dimension that animates it, but also of addressing contemporary issues.

Modernization of heating systems

The oil-fired heating in the château and gîtes has been replaced by central heating with a heat pump. As a result, no fossil fuels are used on the estate.

Lighting management

100% of exterior and interior lighting uses low-energy LED bulbs. The common areas are all equipped with timers or sensors to ensure that the lights are never switched on inappropriately.

Zero plastic policy

The estate is moving towards a zero plastic policy. No bottled water in the guest rooms, but carafes. No plastic bags, cups or cutlery in the store. Everything is recycled and recyclable...

Biodegradable cleaning products

All cleaning products are organic.

100% of the automatic watering system is supplied by spring water from the estate's wells.
