Among the many surprises in store for the 2020 season at the château d'Ainay-le-Vieil is a new range of overnight accommodation château
To kick off this project, the first guest room and gîte will be available from April 1, 2020, with work progressing apace.
La Chambre des Remparts
The first guest room, Chambre des Remparts, is, as its name suggests, housed in one of the nine towers of the ramparts. It overlooks the château 's high courtyard, with a superb view of the châtelet, the Renaissance façade and the feudal main building. The duplex layout, with a living room on the first floor and a bedroom on the first floor, is ideal for overnight, weekend or longer stays château
Le Gîte de la Conciergerie
The first gîte, called Gîte de la Conciergerie, is located in a 19th-century house built between 1850 and 1860. Situated at the entrance to the park, it has served as a janitor's lodge, tourist reception area and boutique. Today, restored to its original configuration, it is once again a charming home ideal for a family or group of friends wishing to spend some time in the countryside, in the heart of a remarkable garden. Benefiting from an enclosed garden and an outbuilding for outdoor lunches and dinners, it offers a kitchen-dining room, a living room that can be converted into a bedroom and two double bedrooms.
Hosting visitors and tourists is a first for the château d'Ainay-le-Vieil. It's a long-term project that will grow from year to year. In all, five guest rooms and three gîtes are planned.
