Noah Bendix-Balgley - violin

1st violin of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, at the age of 29. He was called by the Berlin Philharmonic, to play as soloist and concertmaster in August 2014, which he joined after his performance at the 72 Hours of August. Appointed Concertmaster in 2011 to the Pittsburgh Philharmonic, the orchestra acquired a 1732 violin for Noah in 2013 from luthier Carlo Bergonzi, apprentice to Antonio Stradivari. Noah has been invited to perform as a soloist with the Orchestras Philarmonique de Radio France, National de Belgique, I Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan, among others. He was awarded first prize in 2011 at the Vibrarte International Music Competition in Paris, as well as the prize for the best Bach interpretation at the 14th edition of the "Andrea Postacchini" International Violin Competition, and was particularly distinguished in 2008 during the Long-Thibaud Crespin Competition. A passionate chamber music player, he is invited by the Carnegie-Mellon University School of Music, and has performed at numerous European festivals, including Verbier.
