2021, the château prepares to reopen

In accordance with government orders, the château d'Ainay-le-Vieil and its gardens are closed until further notice.

Nevertheless, restoration and refurbishment work is continuing, and the château d'Ainay-le-Vieil is set to open its doors on April 1, 2021 for another special season.
The château 's team now has the experience of the last season. It will now make it a point of honor to comply with the health and safety recommendations put in place by the authorities to ensure the safety of all visitors.

First event of the year, April 4: Ainay celebrates the family

Time flies and we wish we could enjoy it more with our children, our parents, our grandparents...

etc.

An escape game

Following on from last year's success, a new Escape Game will be held in the grounds of the Corps de Logis Feodal.

Participants, in groups of no more than eight, will have to solve an original riddle, specially written for an unforgettable experience...

A Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions

The Musée des Arts et Traditions Populaires, a collection of objects and instruments retracing the history of the Berry region, housed in a timber-framed barn.

In the grounds of a 17th-century farmhouse, the château has set up its "Arts et Traditions Populaires" museum. Here, you'll discover a private collection of objects and furniture from the daily life of a Berry village, presented in a remarkable setting.

The château store

Overlooking an enclosed garden ideal for taking a break, the château 's boutique offers souvenirs for young and old, delicatessen items, a second-hand shop and a selection of decorative objects and tableware.

The primary aim was to highlight local craftsmanship and exclusive collaborations. Notably with Maison Thevenona fabric publisher, Le Creuset and its kitchen and cooking utensils, the Opinel knives, Casa Lopez for its tableware, Rigaud Rigaud candlesthe first French scented candles created in 1960, and DS Ceramics created by Delphine de Senneville.
