In accordance with the government's instructions, the Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil and the gardens are closed until further notice.
Nevertheless, the restoration and development work is continuing and the Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil will be ready to open its doors on 1 April 2021 for a new special season.
The château team now has the experience of the last season. It will make it a point of honour to respect the health recommendations put in place by the authorities in order to preserve the safety of all visitors.

First event of the year, on 4 April: Ainay celebrates the family
Time flies and we wish we could enjoy it more with our with our children, our parents, our grandparents...
The Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil celebrates the family and offers a special programme to explore together.
Our visitors will be invited to :
- an egg hunt,
- workshops such as circus, old games...
- listen to stories,
- etc.
Times: 2pm to 7pm (last entry at 6.30pm)

An escape game
After the success of last year's event, a new Escape Game will be organised in the grounds of the Corps de Logis Feodal.
The participants, in groups of eight people maximum, will have to solve an original enigma specially written to spend an unforgettable moment...
A Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions
Within the walls of a 17th century farmhouse, the castle has set up a museum of "Arts and Popular Traditions". A private collection of objects and furniture from the daily life of a Berry village can be discovered in a remarkable setting.

The castle shop
Overlooking an enclosed garden, the château's shop offers souvenirs for young and old, delicatessen items, a second-hand shop and a selection of decorative objects and tableware.
The main aim was to highlight local craftsmanship and exclusive collaborations. In particular with Thevenon Housethe fabric editor, Le Creuset and its kitchen and cooking utensils, knives Opinel, Casa Lopez for its tableware, the Rigaud candlesthe first French scented candles created in 1960 or DS Ceramics created by Delphine de Senneville.
