Free and reduced rates

  • Admission to the Château and gardens is free for children under 5.
  • Reduced rates apply for children aged 5 to 11 (park and garden tour OR guided tour of château + park and gardens: see Rates tab).
  • Reduced rates apply to children aged 12 to 18 (park and garden tour OR guided tour of château + park and gardens: see Rates tab).

Costumed tour

  • More magic for castle tours! Children are invited to don a beautiful costume* that will transform them into a medieval knight or lady-in-waiting, and with which they'll passionately follow the tour of the ramparts and castle! Welcome knights and ladies!

Plus: dramatized tour*.

Learning while having fun: that's the project our guides have been working on since last year, organizing theatrical tours on request and subject to availability.

A dedicated day: Ainay celebrates the family

Every year in May, the Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil celebrates the family with a special program for all to enjoy together: treasure hunts, circus and ancient games workshops, magical theatrical storytelling, donkey rides around the château, and more.
Parents, children and grandparents are invited to spend a fun-filled, festive family day.

New: Egg hunt

Who knows why, the bells are planning to lay chocolate Easter eggs in the castle grounds. Children will be delighted, and parents too, to round off a joyous weekend ahead.

Picnic

There is a picnic area in the château grounds (see garden map)
However, picnicking is not permitted in the rose garden or the chartreuse trees.
