Fabrizio Chiovetta accordion and piano
Classically trained, Fabrizio Chiovetta studied piano and theory at the Conservatoire Supérieur in his native Geneva. He graduated in piano composition and interpretation. He also received the Adolphe Neumann Prize from the City of Geneva, awarded to an artist who has particularly distinguished himself.
Fabrizio continued his studies at the Tibor Varga Academy in Sion, where, under the guidance of Dominique Weber, he obtained his Soloist's Diploma in 2003, with honors and congratulations from the jury. At the same time, Fabrizio works with John Perry and Paul Badura-Skoda, and takes master classes with Marc Durand, Bruno Canino, Julian Martin, Yoheved Kaplinsky, György Sebők and Irwin Gage for Lied. In 2001, Fabrizio received the Audience Prize at the Klaviersommer Festival in Germany, for his interpretation of Mozart. He also distinguished himself as a prizewinner at the "New Talents" competition in Genoa in 2002, the "Orpheus" competition in Zurich in 2004, and the "Seventh Internationel Web Concert Hall Competition" in the USA in 2005.
Fabrizio Chiovetta performs extensively in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East, alongside partners such as Sarah & Deborah Nemtanu, Nicolas Gourbeix, Gérard Wyss, Julian Bliss, Brigitte Fournier, Henri Demarquette, Camille Thomas, Patrick Messina and Roman Trekel. Fabrizio plays under the direction of Gabor Takacs-Nagy and Ovidiu Balan, among others, and accompanies the masterclasses of Lady Jeanne and Sir James Galway.
Fabrizio's Schumann and Schubert recordings have won unanimous critical acclaim: Diapason, ArkivMusic, Fanfare Magazine, American Record Guide.
Equally passionate about improvisation and accordion, Fabrizio performs alongside many musicians from diverse backgrounds: Piano Seven, Anna Prucnal, Juliette Noureddine, Masako Hayashi, Brico-Jardin, Levon and Grégoire Maret.
