Organized by the Fondation Mérimée, Le Figaro Magazine and Propriétés Le Figaro, the Grand Trophée de la plus belle restauration has this year become the Grand Trophée Dassault Histoire et Patrimoine, and takes on a new dimension with three prizes, including the Grand Trophée des jardins. A sum of 60,000 euros is awarded to a private owner who has carried out an exemplary, large-scale restoration, restitution or recreation program in a park or garden.

The Grand Trophée des jardins 2021 has been awarded to the Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil. This is the crowning glory of the work of Marie-Sol de La Tour d'Auvergne, the creator of the gardens, and her entire team: landscape gardeners Pierre Joyaux and Alexandra de La Tour d'Auvergne, the château's gardeners and Philippe Joyaux, who is indispensable to the upkeep of the gardens to be discovered or rediscovered from next April.
