On Thursday September 12, under a magnificent blue sky, Captain Florian Gerbaltook command of the Saint-Amand Montrond45/3 mobilegendarmerie squadron.
A very official taking up of arms, followed by a cocktail reception, orchestrated by Colonel François Bortoli, commander of the IV/3 mobile gendarmerie group, and presided over by Madame Claire Maynadier, sub-prefect of Saint-Amand Montrond.
In his speech, Commandant François Bortoli made a point of clarifying the difference between the Gendarmerie and the Gendarmerie Mobile. As we all know, the mobile gendarmerie is a subdivision of the French national gendarmerie specialized in maintaining or restoring law and order. In its day-to-day missions, it contributes to general public safety alongside the departmental gendarmerie.
