Built in the 13th century, Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil is surrounded by a moat and set amidst parkland and gardens, including Renaissance water gardens. Nature plays an essential role not only in the beauty of the site, but also in the balance of its biodiversity.
Aware of the dangers that threaten nature, causing the disappearance of ecosystems and living species, it is essential to discover, promote and preserve this heritage.
The Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil is hosting a photographic exhibition byOlivier Lasbley , who is raising awareness of the major issue of biodiversity, with 12 photos of birds found in the gardens of the Centre Val de Loire region. Allegorizing the link between birds and art, the PLUME.S exhibition, taken from the book of the same name, invites contemplation, meditation, astonishment and debate. For the photographer, "the knowledge and safeguarding of living things requires emotion".
TheAssociation des Parcs et Jardins en Région Centre-Val de Loire (APJRC) is a partner in this project. The association, whose aim is to protect and preserve the region's historical, cultural, botanical and landscape heritage, has generously lent us this exhibition.
