Photographs by Pierrot Men

For some years now, the Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil has been presenting regular photography exhibitions in its museum.
The subjects vary, the locations and the photographers change too, but they all have one thing in common: passion and emotion.
We are therefore delighted and proud to present the work of Pierrot Men, ann exhibition created in collaboration with Galerie Capazza, to be discovered at the Musée des Arts et Traditions Populaires du Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil from March 29 to September 28, 2025.

It's hard to sum up his work in just a few words... His work (if you can call it that) is a blend of reportage and auteur photography, imbued with humanism and the dignity of the subjects he photographs. Finely composed, always with discretion, his images demonstrate an astonishing ability to constantly marvel at his environment, Madagascar. For although his photographic universe extends far beyond the Indian Ocean, Pierrot Men's work is indissociable from the Big Island, as he himself admits: " I never photograph as well as I know. And it's true that, far from photographic reportage, he succeeds in capturing the essence of a country in these extracts of life, giving us a breath of fullness and emotion, like a little pure air... to perpetuate the authenticity, soul and unity of a people.
