Photographs by Pierrot Men

Depuis quelques années, le Château d’Ainay-le-Vieil présente régulièrement des expositions de photographies dans son musée.
Les sujets varient, les lieux et les photographes changent aussi mais tous ont un point commun, passion et émotion.
Nous sommes donc très heureux et fiers de présenter le travail de Pierrot Men, une exposition créée en collaboration avec la Galerie Capazza à découvrir au Musée des Arts et Traditions Populaires du Château d’Ainay-le-Vieil du 29 mars au 28 septembre 2025.

It's hard to sum up his work in just a few words... His work (if you can call it that) is a blend of reportage and auteur photography, imbued with humanism and the dignity of the subjects he photographs. Finely composed, always with discretion, his images demonstrate an astonishing ability to constantly marvel at his environment, Madagascar. For although his photographic universe extends far beyond the Indian Ocean, Pierrot Men's work is indissociable from the Big Island, as he himself admits: " I never photograph as well as I know. And it's true that, far from photographic reportage, he succeeds in capturing the essence of a country in these extracts of life, giving us a breath of fullness and emotion, like a little pure air... to perpetuate the authenticity, soul and unity of a people.
