The château's Rose Garden
The rose garden faces the two Renaissance Pavilions and is bordered by the canals of the Grand carré en l'île and the Carré long des Pavillons.
In the perspective of the aviary and the château, the rose garden presents a collection of old roses that are as beautiful as they are ephemeral, since most of them flower only once, in June.
The rose garden has been designed to showcase old roses, for their aesthetic qualities and fragrances, and as a tribute to the horticultural creations of the past.
It takes visitors on a journey through history, with encounters with varieties bearing evocative names: Chapeau de Napoléon, Souvenir de la Petite Malmaison, Impératrice Joséphine... Connoisseurs will also find roses from renowned collectors.
