3 p.m.: Pierre-Jean Morand is a Journeymen of the Tour de France, and regional manager of MDB, Métiers Du Bois in Bourges and Paris, a joinery and carpentry company with the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label. Pierre-Jean and his team build or rehabilitate all forms of framework, frames and ironwork, from the most ancient to the most modern, in accordance with the rules of the Compagnonnage. In particular, they are part of the coalition in charge of renovating the framework of the Notre-Dame de Paris spire. Passing on, preserving and bringing up to date the know-how he perpetuates in his workshops is part of his DNA... he bears witness to his experience and to the importance of passing on know-how that must remain alive.
All day long : visit Troubadours Montluçonnais will be offering dance and lace demonstrations in the Musée des Arts et Traditions Populaires. The aim of their association is to promote and showcase the arts and traditions of Bourbonnais folklore, as well as the instruments of the region. The Troubadours Montluçonnais aim to promote the rich, traditional rural culture of the Bourbonnais, enhanced and diversified by neighboring regions (Auvergne, Berry, Limousin, Petite Marche...), to enhance their culture, to share it with everyone, through events built around rural dances, and thus to contribute to the maintenance of this cultural heritage. Children, teenagers and adults alike are introduced to the rhythms and arts of our rural environment, practicing bourrées, polkas, scottishs, branles, rondes, valses, mazurkas or quadrille, to the sound of the inseparable emblematic traditional instruments: the hurdy-gurdy and the bagpipes.
