International Yoga Day at Château

This year, the 12th International Yoga Day highlights a fundamental truth: personal well-being and the health of the planet are inextricably linked. Yoga strengthens the body, calms the mind, and fosters a greater sense of awareness and responsibility in daily life. This awareness enables us to choose healthier and more sustainable lifestyles—values that resonate with those of the owners of Château .
Yoga is an ancient physical, mental, and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word “yoga” comes from Sanskrit and means “to join” or “to unify,” symbolizing the union of the body and consciousness. It is practiced in various forms around the world, and its popularity continues to grow. But yoga is much more than just a physical activity. According to one of the most famous yoga masters, B.K.S. Iyengar, “Yoga cultivates the means to maintain a balanced attitude in everyday life and develops the ability to perform well in our actions.”
International Yoga Day aims to raise awareness around the world about the many benefits of yoga. It also highlights the positive effects of practicing yoga, which provides our bodies and minds with the balance they need. This approach to our health and well-being can also have broader effects on the world around us, on our loved ones, on our lifestyles, and, ultimately, on our sustainable development in harmony with nature.
