Lecture: The Académie Française: An Immortal History
To mark the release of her novel *Un papillon sur la Coupole * (working title) (La Bouinotte, June 2026), Ghislaine Antoine will present a special lecture on the Académie française.
At the heart of the story, Jade, a dancer, takes on the identity of Psyche to challenge the members of the Academy on the issue of war and violence around the world. Her struggle is both a manifesto for peace and a journey through France’s oldest institution.
The conference will cover:
- The History and Functioning of the Académie française
- A tour of the premises in a slideshow
- the all-too-often overlooked role of women within it
Following the conference, there will be a book-signing event in partnership with the château Boutique.
