Lecture: The Académie Française: An Immortal History

À l’occasion de la publication du premier roman, « Un papillon sur la Coupole », Ghislaine Antoine – alias « Squirelito » présentera une conférence :  l’Académie française, une histoire immortelle sur la thématique de George Sand et le rôle trop effacé des femmes.

At the heart of the story, Jade, a dancer, takes on the identity of Psyche to challenge the members of the Academy on the issue of war and violence around the world. Her struggle is both a manifesto for peace and a journey through France’s oldest institution.

The conference will cover:

• The History and Functioning of the Académie française
• A tour of the premises in a slideshow
• the all-too-often overlooked role of women within it

Following the conference, there will be a book-signing event in partnership with the château Boutique.
