The Rose Garden of the Castle

The rose garden is located opposite the two Renaissance Pavilions and bordered by the canals of the Grand carré en l'île and the Carré long des Pavillons.
In the perspective of the aviary and the château, the rose garden presents a collection of old roses that are as beautiful as they are ephemeral, since most of them only flower once, in June.

The rose garden has been designed to showcase old roses, for their aesthetic qualities, their fragrance, and as a tribute to the horticultural creations of the past.

It takes the visitor on a journey through history, through encounters with different varieties with evocative names: Napoleon's hat, Souvenir de la Petite Malmaison, Empress Josephine... The amateur will also find roses from renowned collectors.
