Open Gardens for Neurodon

May 6, 2023 - May 7, 2023

Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil, Open Gardens for Neurodon, May 6&7, 2023

This event is organized by the "Fédération pour la recherche sur le cerveau" and the "Comité des Parcs et Jardins de France". It raises funds to further brain research. The Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil has been taking part for several years, donating part of its entrance fees to the Federation, and organizing activities linked to nature and well-being.

  • Saturday and Sunday: Bonsai pruning workshops led by Ainay-le-Vieil resident Maria Millet. Gardening and nature have been shown to have a real positive effect on stress, sleep, appetite and mental well-being. A symbol of peace, balance and harmony, bonsai also embodies patience, resilience and determination. Maria Millet, a resident of the village of Ainay-le-Vieil and trained in the art of bonsai at the Académie Bonsaï, a traditional Japanese school, will be on hand to initiate those interested in this age-old art.
Drawing workshops and Japanese waffles are also on the program.
  • Sunday May 7: "From earth to table": a lunch - an exhibition
A Renaissance-inspired lunch created by Maria Rodriguez, Chef at "La Volière", the Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil restaurant. She'll be creating a menu inspired by the Renaissance, and highlighting producers and products from the Centre Val de Loire region.
During the lunch, an interactive activity will be proposed to the restaurant's customers around the theme of "the napkin". The napkin as we know it today was born during the Renaissance, on the initiative of Leonardo da Vinci. Diners will be given napkins on which they can write messages, thus becoming the artists of the exhibition presented in the restaurant "La Volière".
