Successful varnishing

June was a month of vernissages at the Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil.

Colorius giganteus by Claude Pasquer

The weekend of Rendezvous in the gardens began with the opening of the Colorius Giganteus by Claude Pasquer in the Museum of Popular Art and Traditionswhich was also inaugurated that day.

A 12-meter-long coloring page that the artist named "La France est un jardin" (France is a garden). Following Claude Pasquer's example, young and old alike took part in the coloring game, as this work calls on everyone's talent to evolve.

The Museum of Art and Popular Traditions was also honoured. The collection created over the years by Marie-Sol de La Tour d'Auvergne and thanks to the donations of certain inhabitants of the village, such as the clog maker who had offered his entire workshop, or Marie Sartin, mayor of the village of Ainay-le-Vieil, who offered a delightful collection of lace.

Generous gestures that show the warm links between the village and the castle; a place that allows the valorization of a precious heritage and know-how.
