Successive health, economic and climatic crises have made us even more aware of the value of our sites, our region and, on a wider scale, our planet.

Built in the 13th century, Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil is surrounded by a moat and set amidst parkland and gardens, including Renaissance water gardens. Nature plays an essential role not only in the beauty of the site, but also in the balance of its biodiversity.

In July 2020, as part of the Tourism Recovery Plan, the Centre-Val de Loire Region, accompanied by Betterfly Tourism, launched a measure to support tourism players in the ecological transition in order to develop their practices and offers in line with visitors' expectations in terms of sustainable tourism, while improving their margins.

At Ainay, we have chosen to adopt this approach, conscious of the need to evolve our consumption practices in a desire to preserve nature and in line with the expectations of an increasingly environmentally conscious public.

We have drawn up a charter setting out the various actions we are willing and able to take. From insulating the château thanks to the restoration work we're carrying out, to eliminating the oil tanks we've been using until now, to harvesting honey from our bees in the grounds, we'll keep you regularly informed of our progress.
