Summer 2022 highlights at Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil

Many of you came to discover the various summer events in an atmosphere as convivial as it was festive. Your comments encourage us to continue in this vein, and we're already preparing next year's program.
In the meantime, back-to-school events are waiting for you!

The Curiosity Fair

The fifteenth edition of the Salon des Curiosités took place on Saturday July 9 and Sunday July 10.

This time it was sunny and not rainy! Lovers of antiques and second-hand goods gathered in the castle's high courtyard. It was another successful edition, as witnessed by our visitors, many of whom left with their arms full!

Opening of the "Trésors de Ferveur" exhibition

Thierry Pinette, president of the Chalonnais association "Trésors de ferveur ", was present at the opening, and presented his astonishing and marvellous collection entitled "Grottes, Jardins clos et reliquaires, Merveilles de papier" (Caves, walled gardens and reliquaries, paper wonders)... a title that says it all.

Thierry Pinette's choice of objects was guided by the gardens surrounding the château. These beautiful objects, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, bear witness to the patience, meticulousness, know-how and creativity of the nuns of the period.

A catalog describing the 110 objects on display has been published to coincide with the exhibition and is on sale in the château store.

The 1st Rencontres Musicales du Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil

It's not often you have a talented young conductor as a neighbor.

At the suggestion of a mutual friend, David Molard Soriano met Arielle and Hervé Borne. A good understanding, the desire and the will to create an event around music and the magic of the place did the rest... A first concert took place in August 2021, announcing the creation of the "1st Rencontres musicales du Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil" for 2022.

From August 16, the musicians brought together by David Molard Soriano, the festival's artistic director, took up residence in the château's gîtes. The Rencontres Musicales orchestra was born.

To open the festivities on Friday August 19, David Molard Soriano has given carte blanche to Nathanaël Gouin, a talented pianist surrounded by wonderful performers, Eva Zavarro on violin and soprano Catherine Trautmann on vocals.

Saturday 20th was mainly spent in the gardens. After an introduction to the symphony orchestra led by Constance Clara Guibert, mini-orchestras were formed in the gardens. The Pace company told us the story of the "Prince of Denmark", set to music by David Molard Soriano and performed by the troupe and a number of musicians. Tenor Paul Gaugler and pianist Yann Kerninon took up residence in the meditation chartreuse. The ideal place to let yourself be carried away. The day ended in the Eglise d'Ainay-le-Vieil for a Bach concert with cellist Benoît Foiadelli and violinist Fanny Robilliard.

To round off the festival in style, Fanny Robilliard and the festival musicians gathered one last time under the baton of David Molard Soriano for a symphonic concert. A wonderful evening that ended with a cocktail party in the courtyard of the château, whose facades were completely illuminated.

During these few days, the musicians lulled us with their melodies to offer the public a high-quality program. Well done and many thanks to them.

Les Rencontres Musicales would not have been possible without the help of our sponsors. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them: the Aurige group and its companies MDB, Jacquet and Tollis. The Académie des Beaux-Arts. Spedidam. The town of Saint Amand Montrond. Crédit Mutuel. Maison Bourgeois. As well as private sponsors. Saturday was a Nouvelles Renaissances event.

See you next year in August for a second edition.
