In great demand. He has worked as a soloist in close proximity with many major cellists such as: Mstislav Rostropovich, Yo Yo Ma, Paul Tortelier, Maurice Gendron and Harvey Shapiro. Bernard Greenhouse has said of him that "he could be one of the greatest cellists of our time". His regular musical partners include : Nikolaj Znaider, Julian Rachlin and Yuri Bashmet. As a soloist, Orfeo Mandozzi has performed under the baton of Fabio Luisi, Kristjan Järvi and Michail Jurowski. Orfeo has also made numerous recordings. Members of the jury awards have described his playing as "so captivating, it takes your breath away" (pizzicato).
