Exceptional closure on Sunday, September 19, 2021

Ainay-le-Vieil is threatened by the construction of a wind farm on the La Perche plateau.

In protest against this project, which directly affects us, and in solidarity with other owners and monuments impacted by wind turbines throughout France, we have decided to close the doors of the Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil on September 19, the Sunday of the Journées du Patrimoine.

It's important to us to share our château and gardens with the public (read our letter to the players in the Centre Val de Loire region), but we also feel it's vital to make the general public aware of this economic and ecological danger. We are supported in this national initiative by Demeure Historique(read the message from Olivier de Lorgeril: wind power).

So, for the first time in its history, Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil will go on strike on Sunday September 19.
