Report on the Curiosity Fair 2016

The 9th Salon des Curiosités (July 2 and 3, 2016) has just closed its doors.
Nearly 1,100 visitors strolled through the 35 stands set up in the courtyard of the château and its outbuildings. They had the opportunity to discover silverware, earthenware, antique watches and clocks, furniture, paintings and sculptures...
Many unusual objects were exchanged between exhibitors and bargain hunters, to the delight of all.

These include 3-bladed grape-picking scissors, a letter written by Georges Sand to his daughter, and glasses from Vierzon.
Arielle and Hervé Borne, the organizers of this event, are already thinking about the next edition in 2017.

A word from Arielle, the organiser:

Hervé and I are very happy. A warm atmosphere, a real quality of the exhibited objects. The Salon des Curiosités lives up to its name because of the originality of the objects on display and their rarity. For the experienced or budding collector, there is plenty to do: choice in what is on offer and a variety of prices. It is a joy to see Ainay filled with people, laughing, asking questions, curious. The castle is alive and well and that's the point. Family and friends play the game. That is the success of this weekend. Now we have to think about the 10th anniversary of the Salon des Curiosités!
